Thanks to everyone who entered photographs for this years competition. The standard of submitted work was very high and there were some brilliant interpretations of the brief.

As with all competitions there will be those that win and those that don’t and we, as judges, had some differences of opinion when deciding on the awards.

From all the entries we made a shortlist of 18 images (the ones in the exhibition) from which we chose a winner.

The photos were judged initially without names, just the song title. The 8 photographs which won prizes showed a range of subjects and photographic technique that impressed the judges.

Eventually, we came to a decision we were all happy with and we feel that the winners and highly commended photos reflect the spirit of the competition and the festival as a whole.
