Rhino & The Ranters play a full-bodied, flavourful maelstrom of cowpunk gospel blues, roots and rockabilly. From this dark melee trips a rocking, stomping, hollering, hootenanny resting in the marrow of your bones.

Formed and led by Ryan Webb (lead vocals/resonator/banjo/harmonica) in 2010, the first Ranters lineup was based in London. They played at the Gypsy Hotel nights, supported the Urban Voodoo Machine, headlined Gaz’s Rocking Blues Club, backed Penny Black Remedy, featured in DJ Scratchy‘s Wireless FM show and supported The Specials’ guitarist Roddy Radiation’s band The Skabilly Rebels.

In 2011 Rhino & The Ranters released their debut album The Hanging Room. It’s a heady gumbo of bluegrass and roots crystallised in the swamps of the bayou and salt of the Baltic Sea, tossed in Irish winds, crawling out of Camden creep sneaks and smelting in the Midlands smog.
